Optimism generally runs high for me, and it reaches an absolute peak each year during the back-to-school season. Possibilities and opportunities abound during this time. Educators and leaders are energized and equipped to deliver on their visions for learners. Students are back setting goals and plans for achieving them. Learning communities are back collaborating—especially with the easing of masking and distancing protocols. In many ways, the positivity that I feel now in learning communities is even more inspiring after we have navigated so many challenges throughout the pandemic.
The energy around new school models, expanding definitions of success, and practices that center around learners and learning is invigorating. I’m pleased to share resources I hope will spark ideas and collaboration as your school year takes shape.
