As we kick off a new calendar year I want to start by acknowledging and thanking YOU, our learner-centered community that continues to grow, push the boundaries, and set examples of what is possible when we take a learner-centered approach to leadership, learning, change management, and designing innovative school models. As the movement grows, our team is growing too with Marlon Styles and Katie Weisberg joining our team.
At Learner-Centered Collaborative one of the ways we deliver on our vision to empower all learners to know who they are, thrive in community, and actively engage in the world as their best selves is through broadly sharing tools and resources that support a learner-centered approach.
I encourage you to explore our learner-centered framework that serves as a blueprint for partners on their learner-centered journey. It serves as a powerful starting place for articulating what it means to be learner-centered:
Defining desired whole-learner outcomes such as agency, collaboration, and real-world problem solving.
Designing learning experiences that are competency-based, personalized, authentic, and inclusive and equitable.
Creating the enabling conditions that set up a learning community for success in their pursuit of the desired experiences and outcomes.
Once you’ve reviewed, be sure to check out the resources below that align to the areas you plan to tackle this year. We look forward to another year of learner-centered collaboration.
Warm regards,
